State climatologist warns—get used to more heat for weeks to come!

Say it ain’t so Joe….or Gary!

The state Climatologist with the Oklahoma Mesonet says the heat wave spreading across Oklahoma might extend well into the fall?

Writing this week, Gary McManus put it this way, “This is very reminis…remenis…looks a lot like what we saw in 2023, when exactly on this date 2 years ago, the heat struck with a vengeance for the first time that summer, and flash drought developed across the state. And it stayed warmer than normal for much of the rest of 2023.”

Just what we didn’t want to read, right?

Rain chances? Not very good in the immediate future.
