The hot weather this week in Oklahoma and the rest of the Midwest states isn’t as hot as originally forecasted, so the Southwest Power Pool reversed a “Weather Advisory.”
The power grid explained that, “Due to improved system conditions, the SPP Balancing Authority (BA) is cancelling the Resource Advisory originally issued for Mon., July 21, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. CT until an anticipated end time of 9:00 p.m. CT, Tues., July 22.
The SPP Weather Advisory for the central and southern regions of its BA area, effective Monday, July 21, at 12:00 p.m. CT, until an anticipated end time of Thursday, July 24, at 8 p.m. CT. remains active (*the original Weather Advisory message is provided below for reference).
Weather Advisories and Resource Advisories do not require the public to conserve energy, but are issued to raise awareness of potential threats to reliability among entities responsible for operating transmission and generation facilities.
