As the U.S. saw a jump of 7 rigs to its total in the oil and gas industry, Oklahoma held steady with no declines in its plays.
Baker Hughes reported Oklahoma’s count remained at 42, unchanged from the previous week and stronger than the 33 rig count reported one year ago.
The Cana Woodford continued with a count of 17 rigs but there is no breakdown whether they are oil drilling operations or those drilling for natural gas.
The Granite Wash remained at 13 active rigs while the Ardmore Woodford had one rig and the Arkoma Woodford continued for another week with no reported drilling activity, based on the Baker Hughes rig count.
The Mississippian had one reported rig, same as the previous week.
Around the nation, the Permian Basin in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico had a two rig drop, leaving 263 active rigs.
The Williston remained at 31 rigs. The Utica at 12, the Marcellus at 23 and the Eagle Ford at 41.
The Haynesville in East Texas and Louisiana added 3 rigs to reach a total of 41. The D-J basin remained at 8 and the Barnett stayed at a count of two active rigs.
