Oklahoma’s oil and gas drilling activity held steady for another week, based on the latest rig count from Baker Hughes.
The state’s count of 42 rigs was unchanged from a week earlier and was stronger than the total of 35 rigs reported one year ago.
None of Oklahoma’s oil and gas plays reported a decline in any rig counts. The Cana Woodford continued with 17 rigs and the Granite Wash total of 13 rigs was unchanged.
The Mississippian remained at one rig and the Ardmore Woodford continued with one reported active rig. The Arkoma Woodford continued for another week with no reported drilling activity.
Of the other plays across the U.S., the Permian remained the most active despite a loss of three rigs, leaving a total of 260 oil and gas rigs.
The Williston remained at 31 rigs and the Haynesville continued with 41 rigs. The Eagle Ford Count fell two to 39 rigs. The Marcellus total increased one to 24 rigs. The Utica remained at 12 and the D-J Basin grew one to 9 rigs. The Barnett play remained at 2 rigs.
