More broadband to come on line in southeast Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Broadband Office will officially launch four broadband expansion projects with internet service provider Pine Telephone Company to improve access to high-speed internet service in Choctaw, Latimer, Le Flore, and McCurtain counites.

In announcing the launching, the Broadband Office said the projects will significantly enhance digital access to provide economic opportunities for residents and businesses in the area.

These projects are among more than 180 that are funded by the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds and ARPA Capital Projects Fund that will greatly improve high-speed internet access throughout the state, but especially in rural Oklahoma. Awarded grants administered by the Oklahoma Broadband Office will connect some 70,000 homes and businesses in 57 of the state’s 77 counties.
