Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners gave approval Wednesday to a slight increase in rates for customers of Oklahoma Natural Gas company.
The rate hike, totaling $41,078,183 will have an impact of $1.69 more a month on residential customers while low income customers will see a 57 cent increase per month. The commission vote was 3-0.
As explained at the meeting, a joint stipulation agreement for the rate hike had been signed and approved by ONG, the Commission’s Public Utilities Division and the Oklahoma Attorney General.
The agreement, submitted in June, stated, “The Stipulating Parties further agree that this Joint Stipulation represents a fair, just
and reasonable settlement of all issues in this proceeding among the Stipulating Parties. The Stipulating Parties further agree that the terms and conditions of this Joint Stipulation are in the public interest.”
Commissioners later also approved the formal dismissal of a filing by Oklahoma Gas and Electric made in May in which it indicated it would be filing for a rate hike request. Based on a new state law, the implementation of SB998, which allows Construction While in Progress costs to be charged to ratepayers, OGE indicated it would be filing another request later in the year.
The Commission voted 3-0 to formally dismissed the case.
