EPA administrator pushes total reversal of Biden’s EV mandates

The Trump administration is getting serious about reversing some of the green energy efforts of the former Biden administration, announcing this week it intends to reverse efforts to limit greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles all in the name of fighting climate change.

Environmental Protection Agency Administration Lee Zeldin told an audience this week the 2009 Endangerment Finding by President Obama was based on flawed reasoning and in fact hurt the nation’s economy. He further said the reversal will target the “Biden-Harris administration’s electric vehicle mandate.”

“If finalized, today’s announcement would amount to the largest deregulatory action in the history of the United States,” said the former Republican congressman.

As reports indicated, before the reversal takes effect, it will first face a 45-day public comment period and likely to also face legal challenges, especially from environmental groups. But if it occurs, it will also undo some climate regulations that targeted power plants and oil and gas operations.
