** California-based luxury startup Lucid now holds a Guinness World Record Holder for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge, and the distance is genuinely impressive. ** Houthi militia from Yemen have sunk the merchant ship Eternity C in the Red Sea, the EU military operation in the region said on Wednesday, the second such incident in four days. According to the European Union’s Aspides mission, a rescue operation conducted by a private company saved six people from the sea, while 19 crew members remain missing.

** Hess Corporation (HEShas officially exited Suriname’s offshore Block 59, marking the end of its exploration activities in the area after previously fulfilling its minimum work obligations, per a Reuters report. The announcement came from Staatsolie, Suriname’s state oil company, stated that the block would now revert to state control.

** Volatility in the battery-electric vehicle market, which has renewed interest in long-range plug-in hybrids and extended range EVs, is giving an added lift to DeepDrive, an electric motor start-up that has support from BMW and Volkswagen Group.
