Under the Trump administration, any more solar and wind energy projects proposed to be built on federal lands and waters first have to get the stamp of approval from Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. His personal approval.
It means, according to documents obtained by Politico that it means there will be increased scrutiny of the projects but also the possibility that such approval and construction could be slowed.
Supporters of renewable energy aren’t happy about it, causing one such official to comment, “For an administration so focused on eliminating unnecessary roadblocks, this is a clear attempt to use ‘the process’ to kill projects.”
