Oil and gas play drilling activity remains steady

 

 

The Eagle Ford oil and gas play of South Texas recorded the largest decline of drilling rigs in the past week, based on the latest Baker Hughes rig report.

The Eagle Ford count dropped by two to 43 rigs. The D-J Niobrara count slipped by one to 6 rigs and the Marcellus play numbers fell by one to 23.

Oklahoma’s Cana Woodford count was unchanged at 21 rigs while the Ardmore Woodford continued with no reported drilling activity, based on the Baker Hughes report. The Arkoma Woodford recorded one rig for another week.

The Barnett stayed at 2 rigs while the Granite Wash remained at 8. The Mississippian continued for another week with one reported active rig.

The Permian Basin which stretches from west Texas into Southeast New Mexico remained at 304 rigs while the Utica play added a rig to reach 11 total. The Williston in North Dakota was unchanged with a count of 37 rigs.
