Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains on Monday while crude prices slipped

A slight drop in crude oil prices on Monday sent Oklahoma energy stocks up for the day with some firms recording 6% gains.

What caused the small slide? Investors displayed their concerns about demand from top importer China. It was enough to offset U.S. economic news,OPEC+ supply restraint and ongoing Middle East tensions, reported Reuters.

US standard, West Texas Intermediate fell 30 cents or 0.4% and closed at $81.91 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

The global touchstone, Brent crude, slid 18 cents or 0.2% and finished at $84.85 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

August natural gas fell 17 cents to $2.16 per 1,000 cubic feet.

As for Oklahoma energy stocks, most saw a strong day of trading include Helmerich & Payne where there was a nearly 6% boost. Canoo also rose more than 6%.
