Environmentalists sue over US program allowing pipelines on wetlands

 

A lawsuit filed in Montana federal court by environmentalists challenges the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its program that allows oil and gas pipelines to be built across rivers, wetlands and other bodies of water.

The Associated Press reports the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Great Falls, Montana charged the Corps let companies skirt environmental reviews of potential spills by granting a blanket construction permit to the industry.
