Technical conference scheduled for prorationing of some Oklahoma wells

The matter of prorationing of unallocated gas wells in Oklahoma will be back before regulators on Wednesday.

The Oil and Gas Conservation Division will meet to hold a technical conference on the issue. The meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. in the Corporation Commission’s main courtroom of the Jim Thorpe Office Building.

Commissioners might be on hand but a vote is not anticipated.

The agenda stated that there will be “Discussion and public comment concerning Cause CD No. 202102956 with respect to the statewide proration formula for unallocated gas wells during the period of April 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023.”

The same issue was considered one year ago as OK Energy Today reported at the time. As a result of the approval last year, the commission rules provide for a proration hearing to be held annually to establish the formulate affecting unallocated gas wells.
