Ovintiv has done it again—come up with another major production effort in Oklahoma’s STACK play—four wells with nearly 6,600 barrels a day of oil production.
At a site about 6 miles northwest of the city of Kingfisher, Ovintiv USA Inc. spudded three Jimenez 1708 wells. Located at 21 17N 8W, the wells had spud dates in March 2021 and combined production of 4,837 barrels of oil a day.
Jimenez 1708 3h-16x had production of 2,180 barrels of oil a day and 3,290 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 18,988 feet when it was completed in August 2021.
Jimenez 1708 5h-16x produced 1,110 barrels of oil a day and 3,173 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 19,223 when it was also completed in August 2021.
Production from Jimenez 1708 4h-16x was 1,547 barrels of oil daily and 2,147 Mcf of natural gas upon completion in August of 2021.
The last well, the Emory 1708 4h-15x, was located at an adjacent quarter section of land at 22 17N 8W and had a February 2021 spud date. When completed at a depth of 19,215 feet, the well had production of 1,734 barrels of oil a day and 2,296 Mcf of natural gas.
Marathon Oil Company just filed completion reports on two single-pad wells in Grady County that ended up with combined production of more than 3,000 barrels of oil a day.
The Houston-based company said Brand 0605 2-18-30wxh and the Brand 0605 3-18-30wxh, located on a single pad at 7 6N 5W, a site about 4 miles southeast of the town of Tabler had total production of 3,338 barrels of oil a day.
Brand 0605 2-18-30wxh had production of 1,404 barrels of oil a day and 3,254 Mcf of natural gas from a drilled depth of 13,373 feet. The well had a January 2020 spud date with completion made in October 2021.
Brand 0605 3-18-30wxh, spudded in February 2020, produced 1,934 barrels of oil a day and 4,719 Mcf of natural gas. It was also completed in October 2021 and had a drilled depth of 25,156 feet.
As far as new drilling is concerned, Citation Oil & Gas Corporation based in Houston, Texas received permits to drill 5 wells in Stephens County.
Two of the 5 North Basin wells will be drilled at 24 1N 5W while three other North Basin wells will be drilled at 13 1N 5W. The sites are about 4-5 miles due north of Velma.
