Devon Energy says it’s working to remediate a minor spill of less than one barrel of oil from some of its tanks in Canadian County.

As KFOR News reported recently, the leak was discovered last Sunday morning.

In response to the report, Lisa Adams, Head of Communications at Devon Energy told OK Energy Today via an email,

“Operating safely and responsibly is Devon’s highest priority, and we’ve been working with the land owner (who is not Mr. Scott Beard) and the OCC to remediate the minor spill (less than one barrel). We understand Mr. Beard’s concern as a neighbor and intend to reach out to him.”

Scott Beard is a nearby landowner south of Calumet where the leak occurred and brought the matter to the attention of reporters and was quoted in stories.
