After a three-day rally, crude oil prices fell in Thursday’s trading, largely because of growing concerns over the increasing COVID-19 cases around the world but also because of worries about Mexico’s oil output that was interrupted by a deadly Gulf fire.
The largest fall was by global benchmark Brent crude oil for October delivery which tumbled $1.18 to $71.07 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
West Texas Intermediate crude for October delivery went down 94 cents before settling at $67.42 a barrel.
Oklahoma energy stocks also suffered losses for the day including LSB Industries which dropped nearly 5%.
