Another big gain as crude oil prices reach 6 week high

 

Crude oil prices made another big gain in Wednesday’s trading finishing close to $64 a barrel in the US and more than $67 a barrel in Europe. It was their highest finish in six weeks and at the same time, Oklahoma energy stocks soared.

Investors responded a day after OPEC+ decided to continue gradually easing production curbs. Analysts say it signaled confidence in the demand outlook despite soaring COVID-19 cases in India.

West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery rose 92 cents to close at $63.86 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for June delivery finished up 85 cents at $67.27 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

May natural gas rose 6 cents to $2.93 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Of Oklahoma energy stocks, Devon Energy led the way with a gain of 8.49% on a $1.88 increase to $24.03.

Cypress Environmental Partners LP gained 8.41% on an 18 cent climb to $2.32.

But while they were leaders for the day in their big gains, Mammoth Energy Services lost 10.61% on a 45 cent tumble to $3.79.

Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. dropped 13 cents for a 2.16% loss to $5.90.

Blueknight Energy Partners LP gained 5.05% on a 16 cent increase to $3.33.
Chesapeake Energy fell 69 cents for a 1.47% loss to $46.18 a day after announcing the approaching departure of President and CEO Doug Lawler.
Cimarex Energy Co gained 5.70% on a $3.63 jump to $67.26.
Continental Resources Inc. gained 5.36% as shares rose $1.40 to $27.54.
Enable Midstream Partners LP rose 14 cents for a 1.94% gain to $7.35.
Gulfport Energy Corporation suffered a 9.03% loss to $0.055 cents.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. went up $1.74 to $27.03 for a 6.88% gain.
LSB Industries Inc. dropped 20 cents for a 3.04% loss to $6.38.
Laredo Petroleum Inc. gained 4.15% on a $1.60 rise to $40.18.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. gained 1.47% as shares rose 68 cents to $47.01.
Matrix Service Co settled up 19 cents at $13.29 for a gain of 1.45%.
NGL Energy Partners LP gained 2.14% on an increase of $0.045 cents to $2.15.
OGE Energy Corp. gained 1.75% on a 57 cent rise to $33.20.
ONE Gas Inc rose 18 cents to $78.95 for a gain of 0.23%.
ONEOK Inc. increased $1.25 to $52.13 for a gain of 2.46%.
Ovintiv Inc. gained 5.87% on a $1.35 increase to $24.35.
PHX Minerals Inc gained 7.50% on a 21 cent increase to $3.01.
SandRidge Energy Inc. rose 18 cents for a 4.34% gain to $4.33.
Unit Corporation finished up 11 cents for a 0.85% gain to $13.01.
Williams Companies Inc. gained 2.05% on a 49 cent rise to $24.43.
