Texas regulators hint at tougher reviews of flaring applications

 

 

Texas regulators gave an indication this week that they intend to be perhaps more critical of their control of flaring or burning off of excess natural gas.

The Texas Railroad Commission on Tuesday delayed action on several applications for flaring including one by Colorado-based Ovintiv Inc.  Another request sought approval to flare more than$1 million in gas, contending it would be too expensive to build a pipeline reported Bloomberg.
