Oil reaches $60 in US and OK energy stocks made gains

 

While Arctic temperatures fell across Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon, closing oil prices finished higher in trading and U.S. prices reached the $60 mark for the first time in more than a year.

Benchmark U.S. crude oil, West Texas Intermediate for March delivery climbed 58 cents to finish at $60.05 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for April delivery finished up 5 cents at $63.35 in trading on ICE Futures Europe.

March natural gas went up 22 cents to $3.13 per 1,000 cubic feet.

 

 

The increased oil prices apparently spurred new interest in Oklahoma stocks as most made gains in Tuesday’s trading.

Two of the biggest gainers for the day were Mammoth Energy Services Inc. and Laredo Petroleum Inc. Mammoth jumped 74 cents for a nearly 17% gain to $5.15. Laredo Petroleum had a gain of more than 11% as shares rose $3.81 to settle at $37.93.

Blueknight Energy Partners LP finished up 8 cents for a nearly 4% gain to $2.29.

Chesapeake Energy rose $1.04 to $43.55 for a 2.45% gain.

Cimarex Energy Co increased $1.78 for a 3.43% gain to $53.63.

Continental Resources, Inc. closed up $1.27 at $24.29 for a 5.52% gain.
Devon Energy Corp increased 89 cents or 4.45% to $20.87,
Enable Midstream Partners LP finished with a 8.14% gain on a 49 cent increase to $6.51.
Gulfport Energy Corporation gained nearly 12% to finish the day at more than 9 cents a share.
Matrix Service Co gained less than 1% on an 8 cent increase to $13.04.
NGL Energy Partners LP had a nearly 4% gain when stocks increased 10 cents to $2.65.
OGE Energy Corp. finished up 9 cents at $31.63, a gain of 0.29%.
ONEOK, Inc. settled at $45.95 with an increase of 84 cents and a gain of just under 2%.
Ovintiv Inc rose $1.01 for a gain of 4.66% to settle at $22.70.
PHX Minerals Inc rose 21 cents to $3.52, a gain of 6.34%.
SandRidge Energy Inc. gained 2.85% when stocks increased 15 cents to $5.42.
Williams Companies Inc gained 7 cents or 0.31% to $22.91.
A few of the Oklahoma energy stocks suffered losses in Tuesday’s trading.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. lost 2.62% when stocks fell 17 cents to $6.33.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. dropped 16 cents for a 0.57% loss to $27.69.
LSB Industries, Inc. fell 19 cents or 4.36% to $4.17.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. slipped 5 cents to $41.64, a loss of 0.12%.
ONE Gas Inc dropped 46 cents or 0.63% to $72.23.
