Oil futures increased in Monday’s trading to hit $56 a barrel overseas
Oil futures saw some gains in Monday’s trading as West Texas Intermediate crude, considered the benchmark U.S. oil for March delivery rose $1.35 to finish at $53.55 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude for April delivery finished up $1.31 to close at $56.35 in trading on ICE Futures Europe. March natural gas rose 29 cents to $2.85 per 1,000 cubic feet.
At least two Oklahoma energy firms saw a Monday bounce in their stock. LSB Industries shares shot up 17% as prices rose 55 cents to finish the day’s trading at $3.82.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. registered a gain of nearly 11% as shares rose 54 cents to settle at $5.57.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP was unchanged at $2.01.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation fell more than 3 cents for a nearly 1% tumble to $4.68.
Cimarex Energy Co ended up $1.24 for a gain of 3% to $43.42.
Continental Resources, Inc. lost two cents or a tenth of a point to $19.67.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP slipped six cents or 2.13% to $2.76.
Devon Energy Corp gained about 2% when stocks rose 30 cents to $16.76.
Enable Midstream Partners LP finished unchanged at $5.32.
Gulfport Energy Corporation had a nearly 4% gain to 9 cents.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. finished up 5 cents at $24.33 for a gain of only 0.21%.
Laredo Petroleum Inc rose 71 cents for a gain of 3.05% to $23.98.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. lost 72 cents to finish at $43.74 for a slide of nearly 2%.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc rose 13 cents for a gain of 3.31% to finish at $4.06 for the day.
Matrix Service Co gained 5.34% after shares increased 63 cents to close at $12.42.
NGL Energy Partners LP settled up 3 cents for a 1.09% gain to $2.77.
OGE Energy Corp. added 29 cents for a 1% gain to $30.81.
ONE Gas Inc finished up 70 cents and settled at $73.83, a gain of about 1%.
ONEOK, Inc. rose 19 cents for half-a-point gain to $40.02.
Ovintiv Inc gained about 5% when stocks rose 74 cents to end the day at $16.51.
PHX Minerals Inc lost two cents for a nearly 1% fall to $2.73.
SandRidge Energy Inc. increased 20 cents for a nearly 5% gain and settled at $4.42.
Williams Companies Inc added six cents to finish at $21.29, a gain of 0.28%.
