Drilling and fracking accelerate ahead of what could be an industry-changing US election

A new report by Rystad Energy claims that drilling and fracking activity in the U.S. is on the increase.

It recently announced that the increase came as voters prepared to choose a President, a choice that could affect the oil and gas industry, perhaps detrimentally because of one choice and maybe helpful in another result.

Rystad said North American fracking peaked in October with about 780 started jobs. It coincided with Baker Hughes data showing an increase in the U.S. horizontal rig count.
