OGE honored with safety award

The Southeastern Electric Exchange has honored Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. with its 2018 Safety Performance Award.

The exchange is a nonprofit trade association of 18-investor-owned electricity utility companies.

Every years, the exchange reviewed data submitted by member companies and honors those who excel in safety. OGE was honored for its record involving transmission and distribution work in 2018 and it was the first time the utility won the award.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition,” stated Sean Trauschke, OGE Energy Corp,. CEO. “Last year was different. Our employees didn’t just beat the record, they crushed it, improving on safety by 60% over those two previous years.”

OGE sent emergency response crews last year to Puerto Rico and North Carolina to help with restoring electric power following deadly storms.
