Number of nonstop flights grows at Tulsa International Airport

More airlines are offering nonstop flights out of Tulsa’s International Airport and it’s a good sign for airport CEO Mark VanLoh.

Soon, the airport will feature nonstop flights to 25 airports in 23 cities, according to a recent report by the Tulsa World. As a result, passenger volume at the airport grew by nearly 3 percent in 2017.

“We’re in a sweet spot right now,” he told the newspaper. “Parking lots are full. Things are working and we don’t want to lose the momentum.”

As chairman of the Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust, Jeff Stava said they’ve been pursuing the air carriers that can provide direct service to cities. Plus, the nonstop flights are good attractions for possible new businesses to Tulsa.
