Robocalls and FERC on Congressman Mullin’s Schedule this Week

Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin will be delving into FERC and robocalls this week. And out of the two, it’s a good bet that most interest will be in those annoying robocalls.

He  sits on two subcommittees of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce committee and will be part of two hearings.

One on Tuesday by the Subcommittee on Energy will focus on “Oversight of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the FY 2019 Budget. All five commissioners at FERC are expected to be on hand for the morning hearing to answer questions about the budget and their priorities of the agency.

It was in December of last year when Kevin McIntyre, Chairman of the commission announced that the agency would begin a review of its policies on certifying natural gas pipelines. At the time, he noted that the FERC policies on the lines were nearly 20 years old and that the energy landscape had changed since then.

The siting and construction of interstate natural gas pipelines and LNG import/export facilties will also be examined at the hearing.

A second subcommittee hearing will be held Thursday by the subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection. Rep. Mullin sits on the committee and will be part of an exploration into a hot topic….”Do Not Call: Combating Robocalls and Caller ID Spoofing.”
