Informational Meeting Set for Eagle Industries Superfund Site in Midwest City

The State Department of Environmental Quality plans to hold an informational meeting Tuesday evening to discuss the Eagle Industries Superfund Site in Midwest City.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Nick Harroz Midwest City Community center at 200 North Midwest Boulevard.

Representatives from the DEQ and the Environmental Protection Agency will be on hand and will deliver a presentation at 7:15 p.m.

The Eagle Industries site, 10901 SE 29 street was put on the National Priorities List in January of this year.  The company carried out inspections and repairs of aircraft oxygen and fire extinguisher systems from 1990 until the 2010s. Onsite soil and ground water contamination has been discovered and investigators blame improper handling practices of the chemical trichloroethylene.
