Scotland to Ban New Gasoline and Diesel Cars and Vans in 15 Years

Hard to imagine Oklahoma without new car and truck sales. But it’s what Scotland intends to do in the next 15 years.

The country plans to phase out new gasoline and diesel cars and vans by the year 2032. That’s eight years earlier than when the British government intends to do the same according to Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Britain announced in July it plans to ban the sale of new fossil-fueld cars beginning in 2040.

In a move intended to convert the nation to electric-vehicles, Scotland is following similar plans by France and cities such as Madrid, Mexico city and Athens.
