Senators Applaud Trump’s Approval of Keystone XL Pipeline

Oklahoma U.S. Senators Inhofe and Lankford wasted little time Friday in offering statements of gratitude over the Trump Administration’s approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline permit.

Sen. Jim Inhofe, a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee said, “President Trump continues to deliver on his promises to prioritize energy independence and to end the war on fossil fuel that has hindered the development of our country’s energy infrastructure.”

He said the completion of the line should create thousands of jobs in Oklahoma and the rest of the nation.

“I am pleased the administration is taking this critical step to advance our country’s energy dominance.”

Sen. James Lankford was too.

“I am glad the Trump administration is moving energy forward with the completion of the northern-leg of the Keystone XL oil pipeline.”

He called it a safe and efficient way to move crude “but was subject to years of political delay, even though there was no evidence of a significant impact on climate change. The southern part is completed, it’s time to complete the rest of the line.”
