Oklahoma City-based Blueknight Energy Partners, L.P. was recently recognized for its oil transportation safety achievements at the Oklahoma Trucking Association’s Annual Safety Awards banquet.

The firm was named the 2016 Grand Champion Award recipient and also given the First Place Safety Award in the 1 to 5 million annual miles Petroleum Class.

“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our fleet team and the high priority we place on safety. They strive for excellence every day and it’s their commitment to that goal that is being recognized,” said Mark Hurley, President and CEO of Blueknight Energy.

The company has gone two years without a Department of Transportation reportable accident. The Grand Champion Award given by the OTA is the highest fleet safety award presented by the association. It recognized the trucking company with the lowest accident and injury frequency in Oklahoma each year across all class sizes.

Blueknight has nearly 240 crude oil transportation and oilfield service vehicles. Its tanker trucks move crude oil from wellhead locations not served by pipeline gathering systems to aggregation points and storage facilities.
