A clean sweep at EPA.

While Donald Trump has met with possible candidates to take over the leadership of the EPA, his transition team has also arrived at the offices of the Environmental Protection Agency.

The agency’s transition director announced this week that “between now and Inauguration Day, the team will be meeting with EPA leadership and preparing the incoming Administration to lead the Agency.”

Shannon Kenny’s note to employees also included a guide explaining that the Agency has 79 political appointees who will be replaced by Jan. 19. The memo explained there might be one exception.

“The Inspector General is the only political appointee position that is not subject to change with the new Administration,” wrote Kenny. At least 14 of the EPA jobs will require confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
