General Electric’s put out a slick magazine with the title of “Innovating for the Future of Energy” as part of the grand opening this week of its $125 million Global Research Oil and Gas Technology Center in Oklahoma City.

Director Mike Ming is quoted in the magazine as pointing out how GE is emerging “as a digital industrial leader and I see taking digital to the oil field a major play for us.”

He said the future is going to be shaped by how to use all of the data being captured.

“Collaboration will be a key to our success and we are also thrilled to be seated physically in the newly coined “Innovation District”,” said Ming in the article.

At Wednesday’s dedication ceremonies, GE Senior Executive Vice President Vic Abate said the center was the 10th global research facility worldwide for the company.
