WTI, Brent Show Higher Settlements on Friday

Oil futures settled higher on Friday as investors eased concern over energy demand based on the release of the week’s governmental data and reports, according to Bloomberg MarketWatch.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, August West Texas Intermediate crude added 27 cents, or 0.6%, to end trading at $45.95 a barrel, roughly 1.2% for the week.

On the London ICE Futures Exchange, September Brent crude tacked on 24 cents, or 0.5%, to settle at $47.61 a barrel, marking a gain of 1.8% for the week.

Meanwhile, August natural gas increased by 2.9 cents, or 1.1%, to settle at $2.756 per million British thermal units on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Natural gas yielded a weekly loss of 1.6%.
