DCP Midstream Closes Tulsa Office as Part of Corporate Restructuring Efforts

Denver-based DCP Midstream LLC, the midstream segment’s largest natural gas processor, confirmed that it has closed its Tulsa office, according to a news report published by The Tulsa World on Saturday.

Jerry Barnhill, a senior vice president for the midstream company, said shutting down the Tulsa office affected about 100 employees.

Barnhill said the closure was the result of a decision to consolidate the functions being performed in Tulsa — primarily finance and accounting operations — with DCP’s Denver headquarters, according to the Tulsa World report.

In April of this year, DCP announced a ten percent reduction in force affecting 300 employees across 17 states. According to the April press release, “the magnitude of the reductions was decreased by the careful evaluation of the need for new hires and recent functional consolidations in Denver and Houston.”

A year earlier in February 2015, DCP closed its Oklahoma City regional office as it eliminated twenty percent of its workforce due to corporate restructuring. At that time, DCP also implemented a reduction in force for the Tulsa and Midland offices.

DCP is a 50-50 joint venture between Phillips 66 and Spectra Energy, according to the company’s website.

DCP’s Tulsa office was located in Two Warren Place at 61st Street and Yale Avenue, according to the Tulsa World report. In addition to its Denver headquarters, DCP has office locations in Houston and Midland, Texas.
