Protecting ratepayers as Data Center growth puts more pressure on electric grids

We’ve written numerous times how the growth of data centers in Oklahoma and across the country has created pressure on electric grids and utilities to come up with more power.

It has even prompted northeastern states to change their minds to some extent about the use of natural gas. Where they once opposed it, they now embrace its use.

Stateline reports how a dozen proposals in state legislatures across the country want to ensure that potential new power plants for data centers don’t result in increased rates for customers.
