President’s latest executive order promotes coal mining

President Trump Signs Executive Order On Energy Production

With flourish of a pen, President Donald Trump signed an executive order at the White House Tuesday afternoon, one  aiming to boost U.S. coal mining.

The action came as reports indicated the use of coal had dropped in the U.S. in the past few decades. But the President’s order defines coal as “mineral” which will allow it to benefit from previous executive actions on mining that — among other things — used presidential wartime authorities to expedite production reported by Forbes.

His order will also attempt to exclude coal mining projects from certain environmental reviews.
