Marietta to see rebuilding of large employer a year after EF-4 tornado hit

Devastated by a deadly EF-4 tornado a year ago, the southern Oklahoma City of Marietta has renewed high hopes of rebounding from the storm that destroyed a Dollar Tree distribution center.

Gone is the massive structure that once looked like Mother Nature left a giant claw mark across it but now Marietta received celebratory news that Dollar Tree won’t abandon the city. Instead, the corporation announced recently it intends to rebuild, saving some 400 jobs in the region just north of the state line with Texas.

In the place of the ugly scar that was readily observable by motorists passing by on Interstate 35 is a barren large lot after construction crews removed the building and the remaining giant slab. Next to it are large mounds of dirt and concrete and construction equipment.
