Konawa site of next Broadband expansion project

Oklahoma’s next launching of a broadband service project funded through the federal government will take place Friday in an area serving five east central counties.

The State Broadband Office announced that expansion projects with internet service provider CVEC Fiber will mean improved access to high-speed service in Hughes, Lincoln, McIntosh, Okfuskee and Seminole counties. The projects will significantly enhance digital access to provide economic opportunities for residents and businesses in the area.

The ceremony will held in Konawa.

Background:

These projects are among some 170 that are funded by the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund and ARPA Capital Projects Fund that will greatly improve high-speed internet access throughout the state, but especially in rural Oklahoma. Awarded grants administered by the Oklahoma Broadband Office will connect some 70,000 homes and businesses in 57 of the state’s 77 counties.
