BlackRock investments revealed in Vital Energy

 

A recent Securities Exchange Commission filing shows BlackRock Inc. is a holder of nearly 11% of the shares in Vital Energy Inc. of Tulsa.

The Schedule 13G filing indicated BlackRock owns 10.9% of the company’s public shares. The total owned by BlackRock amounts to 4,147,879 shares.

BlackRock was one of the firms targeted when the Oklahoma legislature adopted an anti-ESG act in 2021. At the time, it gained a national reputation for discriminating against oil and gas investments.  Since then, it has shied away from the policy.

It is also considered to be the world’s largest asset manager with $11.5 trillion in assets under management as of 2024. BlackRock is headquartered in New York City with 70 offices in 30 countries and clients in 100 countries.
