$1 billion data center might be coming to Little Rock

A report by Arkansas Business suggests a $1 bllion data center might be located in Little Rock, depending on whether the unknown company takes the incentives offered by the city’s board of directors.

As reported, the deal involves a possible 300,000 square foot data center that was the subject of a resolution authorizing a memorandum of understanding with Willowbend Capital LLC, a firm representing the unnamed company behind the project.

Arkansas Business reported the facility could be located at the Little Rock Port and that some of the incentives the city might offer include a reduced franchise fees and a property tax abatement of at least 65% for 30 years.

Another possible billion-dollar data center might be built in Conway. But it too has been shrouded in secrecy.

The growth of data centers throughout the country has led to the development of more power generating facilities as well. Some electric grids also point to the data center development as a need for more electric transmission lines.
