South Central Oklahoma site of next broadband expansion project

 

Another of Oklahoma’s broadband expansion projects financed through federal funding will be launched this week to serve Garvin and Jefferson counties.

The projects will be launched with internet service provider Pioneer Telephone Cooperative during a Friday morning ceremony in Lindsay.

Background:

These projects are among some 175 that are funded by the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund and ARPA Capital Projects Fund that will greatly improve high-speed internet access throughout the state, but especially in rural Oklahoma. Awarded grants administered by the Oklahoma Broadband Office will connect more than 70,000 homes and businesses in 57 of the state’s 77 counties.
