Next Broadband expansion project to involve five counties in Oklahoma

The latest launching of broadband expansion projects in Oklahoma will involve AT&T Oklahoma and according to the Oklahoma Broadband Office will improve access in five counties.

The counties are Alfalfa, Bryan, Latimer,Marshall and Wagoner and are in different areas of the state.  The Broadband Office plans a launch ceremony Friday, March 7 at 11 am. in the Veterans’ Colony in southeast Oklahoma.

These projects are among some 170 that are funded by the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund and ARPA Capital Projects Fund that will greatly improve high-speed internet access throughout the state, but especially in rural Oklahoma. Awarded grants administered by the Oklahoma Broadband Office will connect more than 70,000 homes and businesses in 57 of the state’s 77 counties.
