Agreement allows construction of $1.2 billion solar farm in southern Wyoming

South Cheyenne rancher Ed Prosser looks north of his farmland off of Chalk Bluff Road where 1.2 million solar panels will be visible after Canadian energy giant Enbridge builds the $1.2 billion project starting next year.

A roadblock to construction of a more than $1 billion solar farm proposed for southern Wyoming has been removed.

County officials in Cheyenne have reached a deal with Enbridge, a Canadian energy firm for a payment plan of the $14.5 million need to rebuild a key road to build the $1.2 billion farm which would be Wyoming’s largest solar project. Once built, the 771-megawatt facility would contain more than 1.2 million solar panels.
