FERC approves more power plants for nation’s largest electric grid

The Southwest Power Pool, of which Oklahoma is a member, is one of several major electric grids across the U.S. and now the nation’s largest grid wins approval for new power-plant projects to handle the stunning growth of data centers.

PJM Interconnection LLC manages a 13-state network including from the East Coast to Chicago and just got a stamp of approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for 50 new projects to increase grid reliability to handle AI demands. The new projects include big natural gas generators.
