Colorado accuses major oil companies of filing false emissions reports

 

Colorado energy regulators are targeting some major oil companies such as Chevron and Oxy, accusing them of falsified emissions data for 344 oil wells in the state.

Colorado’s Energy and Carbon Management Commission recently flagged the emissions against the major firms as well as Civitas, a company also accused of filing an unnamed number of false reports. The reports are required of oil companies to make sure their emissions land within healthy ranges.
