The Water Quality Management Advisory Council of Oklahoma’s Department of Environmental Quality will meet this week to consider some permanent rulemaking.

DEQ will be proposing permanent rulemaking for the following Chapters:
- CHAPTER 606 – OKLAHOMA POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM (OPDES) STANDARDS
- CHAPTER 631 – PUBLIC WATER SUPPLY OPERATION
- CHAPTER 710 – WATERWORKS AND WASTEWATER WORKS OPERATOR CERTIFICATION
For these Chapters, Notice of proposed PERMANENT rulemaking was filed with the Office of Administrative Rules (OAR) and the Notice of Rulemaking Intent (NRI) for these Chapters was published in the Oklahoma Register on December 2, 2024. As noted in the published NRI’s, DEQ will be accepting written comments from December 2, 2024, through January 7, 2025. If the WQMAC votes to recommend the Permanent rules to the Environmental Quality Board (EQB), they will be considered by the Board at the January 21, 2025, EQB meeting.
