Trump’s energy nominee pledges domestic energy production expansion

When Donald Trump’s pick to head the U.S. Energy Department, Chris Wright, went before the Senate Energy committee in his confirmation hearing, he made it clear his top priority and first priority will be to expand domestic energy production and it will include liquefied natural gas and nuclear power.

The 60-year old Wright, head of Liberty Energy, a Denver-based oil and gas firm recognized as one of the nation’s leaders in fracking, stated fossil fuels are the key to ending world poverty.

“The solution to climate change is to evolve our energy system,” Wright told the members of the committee.

“Do I wish we could make faster progress, absolutely.”
