Those green energy opponents who attended a Stop the Green rally at the capitol in Oklahoma City certainly have an ally in President-elect Donald Trump.
Even as they rallied Tuesday, Trump was vowing to oppose all new wind energy production once he takes office later in the month. Speaking to reporters, he said, “We’re going to try and have a policy where no windmills are being built—they don’t work without subsidy. You don’t want energy that needs subsidy.”
It’s the very thing that some of the Stop the Green rally goers advocated during their event. Many complained of the taxpayer dollars spent on wind and solar farms built in Oklahoma, not to mention the threat of eminent domain by corporations wanting to build the renewable energy projects.
