The Republicans now in control of the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources aren’t waiting for Donald Trump to be sworn into office for a second term before handling his nominees for Interior Secretary and Energy Secretary.
Utah Sen. Mike Lee, the new chairman of the committee announced plans to holding hearings next week.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the committee will hold a hearing to consider the nomination of former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum to be Secretary of the Interior. The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. central time.
The following day, Wednesday, Jan. 15, the full committee will hold a hearing to consider President-elect Trump’s nomination of Chris Wright to be Secretary of Energy.
Wright is the CEO of Liberty Energy headquartered in Denver, Colorado. Liberty is considered to be the second largest hydraulic fracturing company in North America.
