The latest Baker Hughes rig report showed Oklahoma’s count as of last week was still 43, same as the previous week. It is also the same number reported in the state a year ago.
Nationally, Baker Hughes recorded a drop of 5 rigs to 584 including a decline of two oil rigs leaving 480 across the U.S. while the number gas rigs dropped by three to 100. Miscellaneous remained at four.
The latest count of 584 is 35 fewer than the 619 rigs reported a year earlier and the decline included 19 fewer oil rigs and 17 fewer oil rigs while the miscellaneous count was up by one. The offshore rig count is unchanged at 14 but six fewer than one year ago.
Oklahoma’s count of 43 rigs compared to 282 in Texas, where the number fell by three over the past week. New Mexico was unchanged at 103 rigs and North Dakota remained at 36. Louisiana continued with 30 rigs while Colorado dropped one to 9 rigs.
The Red Top Rig Report published by the Independent Oil and Gas Service in Wichita showed the count in Kansas fell by six to 18 active rigs.
Ohio was unchanged with a count of 9 rigs and Pennsylvania saw no change with 15 rigs. Utah’s count fell by one to eleven rigs while West Virginia continued with 10 rigs and Wyoming stayed at 18 active rigs.
