The furloughs implemented by EV maker Canoo when it shut down its Oklahoma City manufacturing plant last month prompted one legislator to fill a bill to ban EV makers from obtaining cash from a state incentive program.
Sen. Adam Pugh, R-Edmond, filed Senate Bill 294 which would stop electric vehicle manufacturers from receiving any funds from the Governor’s Quick Action Closing Fund.
The fund is controlled by the governor who decides how to hand out the money.
As the Frontier reported, Pugh explained he believes Oklahoma should shift from attempting to turn Oklahoma into a hub for EV manufacturing.
