Just because Oklahoma oiland gas billionaire Harold Hamm was quiet during the most recent Donald Trump presidential campaign doesn’t mean he’s not going to celebrate hardy in the upcoming inauguration.
Hamm, once a vocal and vociferous supporter of Trump in his 2016 campaign, plans to host what is described as an “exclusive” inauguration watch party as part of his celegration of Trump’s publicly announced energy policies. After all, he reported poured $4.3 million into the re-election effort.
So reports the New York Times and The Oklahoman. According to both newspapers, Hamm, founder and CEO of his once-public-but-now-turned private Continental Resources company, plans to hold the party on the roof of the Hay-Adams Hotel, one block from the White House.
‘The vision of energy independence is one strongly embraced by Donald Trump,’ Hamm said in a statement to The Oklahoman.
‘We’re optimistic, as are many Americans, that we have an incoming president who understands the importance of the energy sector and we look forward to celebrating at this historic event. ‘We truly believe President Trump will make America great again.’
